Educating voters on the rights and civic duties of people with disabilities

To enhance the participation of people with disabilities in Indonesia’s upcoming presidential election in April 2014, AIPJ partner SIGAB trained 16 Disabled People’s Organizations from 4 provinces. The training provided voter education about the rights and civic duties of people with disabilities.

The training-of-trainers discussed the issues persons with disabilities should raise with candidates during the campaign season, and help help encourage people with disabilities to come out and vote on the election day. The training took place on 18-23 October 2013 in Yogyakarta.
