Let's end sexual violence!

In collaboration with Masyarakat Pemantau Peradilan Indonesia (MaPPI) FH UI and UN Women, AIPJ held a series of talkshow and discussion on sexual violence in Indonesia. The event was held on Saturday, 10 December 2016 at The Warehouse, 5th Floor, Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta.

Based on Komnas Perempuan’s latest annual report, sexual violence have been listed as a serious crime with increasing number of cases every year. In response to this, MaPPI together with AIPJ did a research in 2016 on law enforcement for rape crime cases in Indonesia. The research was to evaluate the implementation of law enforcement and promote law reform in rape cases, so 50 rape cases decision was analysed. A ‘sense of justice’ research was done to see public view on rape cases. It involved a survey on 2040 respondent in 34 provinces.

The two researches were published and disseminated during the festival, with various talk shows, film screening, infographic and art exhibition, and live music. Other issues were raised besides rape, such as child marriage.
