Let's Learn the Structure of Court Decision!

On 22-23 January 2014, Masyarakat Pemantau Peradilan Indonesia FH-UI (MaPPI) held a training for law students to learn methods in analysing court decisions. Supported by AIPJ through a core funding program, MaPPI held the activity as a response to the decisions analysis competition. Participants, who were all students, were strongly engaged in the sessions. They acknowledged the courts’ decisions analysis as a new exercise, something that they have never learned before from the law school. Similar activities were held in other law schools as response to the competition.

AIPJ hopes that these initiatives lead to create knowledge management of the published decisions, not only within the court but also outside of the court. Students and wider public are hoped to contribute significantly to the promotion of quality and consistent decisions, as well as accountability of the judiciary.

MaPPI is one of the 18 CSOs receiving core funding from AIPJ, managed by The Asia Foundation.  MaPPi is on the board of the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia (FHUI) which is engaged in justice monitoring. They are independent, professional, responsible and non-commercial.
