More transparent and efficient courts

AIPJ is working with legal and judicial institutions to improve services and accessibility, especially in delivering consistent, timely and transparent decisions. AIPJ is collaborating with its partners to make courts decisions accessible publicly and encouraging the use of these published decisions by judges, members of the legal community, and general public.

Publicly available decisions mean judicial processes are more transparent and reduce opportunities for corrupt practices. Publicly available decisions also mean that legal discourse, legal practice and law enforcement, and law making in Indonesia can be strengthened with reference to jurisprudence, being one of the main sources of law.

AIPJ is also helping to improve case management, and is supporting the introduction of the chambers system in the Supreme Court. In this system judges receive cases related to their specialisation and can process cases in less time, reducing the case backlog and serving justice seekers better.
