Helping a child to receive urgent medical treatment
Agrandmother seeking medical attention for her young grandson was repeatedly made to wait then turned away by a hospital in outer Jakarta. The boy suffered from acute liver problems which became critical.
Fearing that they were being ignored in favor of more wealthy patients, the woman asked for help from LBH Jakarta. Lawyers accompanied her to the hospital and spoke with the hospital administration. As a result the boy was immediately admitted, given free medical treatment and made a recovery.
