Government officials of NTB learning law through board games

Preventing Corruption through Board Games

Lombok Post, 14 September 2013 Mataram - The AGO with support from AusAID's AIPJ program held a public outreach activity in Mataram, attended by head of district offices. They used board games to deliver the messages. "Hopefully the public can understand the law easily with this new game method," said Widoyoko, head of the AGO's public outreach team.

He said that the simple tool is more effective than a one-way learning process. The theme of the outreach is "kenali hukum, jauhi hukuman" or know the law, avoid the penalty. "After the session, we hope that the attendees can manage their local budget wisely," he added.

Attendees were divided into groups and each presented their ideas regarding corruption issues. Though it was a fun and relaxed session, they looked really enthusiastic.
