The Steering Committee and Organiser of the competition, meeting the Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Dr. H.M. Hatta Ali

Competition encourages law students to analyse judges decisions

"Decision analysis competitions like this are useful for judges and courts because they help encourage legal consistency and certainty," said the Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Dr. H.M. Hatta Ali. "The cases analyzed should contain complex legal issues, so that students are challenged to study them using a variety of scientific disciplines," he added.

"Our website is receiving 1,500 visits per day, showing the high levels of interest in this competition," said Dr. Deni K. Yusup, Program Manager of the competition from the Faculty of Shariah and Law UIN Sunan Gunung Djati, Bandung. Students are registering for the competition from law schools throughout Indonesia, and the demand has prompted an extension of the registration period to 15 February.

AIPJ is supporting this competition as a means of improving the transparency and consistency of judicial decision-making.
