Securing payment for workplace injuries
An 18 year old construction worker was electrocuted on a building site, and was taken to hospital by the site manager. The hospital needed almost $7000 to treat him and refused to continue treatment without payment. The company pressured the family of the victim to pay these medical bills.
The family asked LBH Bali to negotiate with the company and the hospital. As a result the company agreed to pay over $6000 with less than $900 to be paid by the family. LBH Bali also helped the family gain access to the medical insurance assistance scheme.
